Here are a few rough iterations of a concept that has been modelled and textured entirely in Blender 3D. In terms of a design concept, my aim was to create something modern, but not too far removed from the types of engineering that exist today. My additional design aim was to emphasise the “story” that sits behind this model: Where it’s been used? How old is it? How much has it been used?
My logistical aim was to test the versatility of this free software, limiting the need to use any paid, third party software that I would typically use for a design such as this.
I will be releasing a series of video guides in support of this design over the next few months, covering the modelling, texture painting and shader development stages of this concept.
