3D & VFX

Container
Blender 3D and Substance Painter
This is a conceptual piece created around the theme of an already extinct, moribund future. Chiefly, the model was modelled in Blender 3D and based on reference photographs of Shipping containers. The textures were created in Substance Painter endeavouring to communicate weathering and age, whilst hinting at a not too distant future.

Chiefly, the model was modelled in Blender 3D and based on reference photographs of gas canisters, heating boilers, etc. The textures were created in Substance Painter endeavouring to communicate weathering, whilst hinting at a not too distant future.

Extend and Replace
Various
These are a series of set-extensions and sky replacements utilizing both luminance and chrominance keying that control various atmospheric and set-based elements. For example, the road location not only shows sky replacements in a piece of moving footage, but also subtle prop elements such as Satellite dishes have been added to distant buildings.

Tank Bot
Maya, Blender and Substance
Taking inspiration from the work of Simon Stalenhag I created this in Maya, then exported that mesh to Substance Painter for texture painting, then composited the model; textures; lighting; shadows and, AO in Blender compositor. I then added custom Edge Blending and Lighting Wrap to further integrate the CGI into the Live Action Plate.

The Arcane Welder
Blender 3D and Substance Painter
The Arcane Welder is a media project that proposes a moribund future; a science fiction that imagines a future that is already dead. The project aims to create outputs that align the mundane and the recognisable with the futuristic and “arcane”.
